What to do when your marathon is CANCELLED
What to do when your marathon is CANCELLED

In the last week I have experienced a wide range of emotions leading up to my non-marathon weekend. Maybe you know what I’m talking about… First, the excitement of it being race week.  This was it.  The race I’ve had on my calendar ALL year.  This was going to be my sub 3 race.  I knew the course, loved the

Caught in a storm and other training tales…

Well, I didn’t mean to go quite so long without posting but life happens and things get busy.  You know how it is!  First of all, HAPPY NATIONAL RUNNING DAY!! I love seeing all the running happiness on my news feed on Facebook.  The last two summers I was injured on National Running Day so it was not nearly as

Coming Out of a {Mini} Slump

Despite my bittersweet PR last weekend, I spent most of this week feeling a bit out of sorts in my running world.  I think I just needed to process the race and it took me a while.  For months I had built up a certain finish time and race strategy in my mind and when the weather and course didn’t

Overcoming negativity- sometimes I don’t.

Does Walking Count?!

So today my main goal was to improve upon yesterday’s workout. I slowed down my pace to a 13:30 minute mile. In the end I completed 3 miles in about 45 minutes. I walked about a mile of it during the course of the workout. Ashton can get in a position which shoots a sharp pain in my tailbone. I

Treadmill Time

Yes, it was another rainy day. I really needed to run since I took yesterday off. My wonderful mother-in-law offered to keep both kids this morning so I could have some quiet time. To me, running definitely falls under that category. It is the most valued “Me Time” I have and I treasure it! We have not purchased our own
