Setting my 5K PR
Setting my 5K PR

This Saturday I have another 5K.  I am starting to get the excited/ nervous feeling already.  5K’s used to be a personal race favorite of mine for many years.  I loved the speed, the shorter distance.  I thought people were crazy for racing anything more.  Why race a 10K when you could run a 5K? Then I started running longer

Micah Rine Wildcate Legacy 5K- Race Report

What a GREAT race!! I must admit that I have found my new favorite Searcy 5K! I REALLY hope this becomes an annual event because if so- I will be back! PROS:  All proceeds went towards the Micah Rine Wellness Center- which will be at the school my children attend. Micah Rine was an HA alumni who died tragically at

October Racing Goals
October Racing Goals

Happy Friday! Two of my children are napping and two are resting so I have a few quiet minutes… I thought I would take a moment to put down some goals before my first race of the fall “season.” Saturday, October 8– Micah Rine Wildcat Legacy 5K Break 21 minutes! This is a very realistic goal. I know I can

Race Report- Chilis 5K Queso
Race Report- Chilis 5K Queso

Yesterday I ran in the Chilis 5Queso Run.  Overall, it was a great first time event race.  PROS: All proceeds of this race went to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  I love supporting St. Jude’s whenever I have the opportunity.  The race staff was very friendly and for a local 5K the race swag was great! The t-shirts are very festive

5K Tomorrow… Ready or Not!

Tomorrow morning I am racing in my first 5K since May of 2010. It was the 4-H 5K and I had found out just a few days before the race that I was pregnant! It was also Abi’s first 5K.  I believe my time was a 20:54. My goal for tomorrow is to beat that time! I want to break

Ups and Downs
Ups and Downs

Let’s start off with something happy… 🙂 On Saturday, my oldest ran in her 4th 5K. She did great! She ran with my husband and had her best 5K time yet. She finished in just over 34 minutes which averages out to be a little over an 11 minute mile. She did not stop to walk at all. Just as

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood…

This afternoon was GORGEOUS. Perfect weather to be out enjoying some vitamin D. With dinner in the oven, 4 restless kids, and still another 30 minutes to go until John got home I decided to make the most of things and head outdoors. This was actually my first time to do so with all 4. We’ve had Ashton pretty much

Her 1st 5K…
Her 1st 5K…

Here they come… Look at that smile… Coming in with her daddy… My little girl! What a good team! So proud of my little girl! As former high school and college runner, of course I would LOVE to have a child or children follow in my footsteps. I love the feeling right before a race, the excitement and adrenaline. I

Toad Suck!!
Toad Suck!!

I was going to come up with a fun title for this post but nothing is crazier than the title of the race itself. Yes, it is called the Toad Suck 5K/10K and it is held the first weekend in May every year in Conway, AR. I have always wanted to do this race but it never worked out timing-wise.

STRIDE to Prevent Suicide 5K
STRIDE to Prevent Suicide 5K

This morning was a local 5K- Stride to Prevent Suicide. It was NOT my best 5K but it was fun running in my hometown and with friends. The race started late (about 30 minutes behind schedule) and I had a side stich from the start. Talk about annoying! My goal was to break 20 minutes but after adding my splits
