St. Jude Marathon Race Report- Respect the distance.
St. Jude Marathon Race Report- Respect the distance.

Today’s marathon taught me many things but I’d say the biggest lesson I learned was to respect the distance.  I’ve heard other runners say this but it’s never quite hit me the way it did today.  And it hit hard. Forcing my legs to continue to move during the last 2 miles was a bigger accomplishment than running the entire

I’m HOME!!! My husband surprised me at the airport with ALL the kids.  I thought he would only have the little two with him but he checked the big two out of school at noon so they could all greet me at the Little Rock airport.  I missed them all so much but I must admit that I had an

This morning I ran in my third 5K of the month.  These puppies are wearing me out! I am hoping that running my marathon pace next week feels easy (at least for a while) in NYC compared to my 5K race pace. I last ran this race 2 years ago.  🙂 Ran with baby #1, 30 weeks preggo with baby

Arkansas Race for the Cure 2012- Race Report

Yesterday was my 9th year in a row to run in the Arkansas Race for the Cure.  I love this race and have had many different race experiences there.  The first time I ran it was in 2004 and my little Abi was just 3 months old.  Race for the Cure and I go way back! However, this was my

Best. 5K. EVER. I have been looking forward to this 5K all year.  Well, really since I ran it last October.  It is my favorite kind of race course- flat and fast! When I woke up yesterday and saw that the temperature was 48 degrees and perfect I knew I was going to have a good race.  Temperature and race

Heart & Sole Half Marathon- Race Report {the one with a shiny new PR!}

What a day! This morning’s race was the result of many answered prayers and countless hours of hard work and training.  I could not have done it without the support of my friends and family.  The Heart & Sole Half Marathon has been on my racing calendar all year long.  I knew this would be my only half marathon for

Chilis 5K Queso- Race Report

This morning I ran in the 2nd Annual Chilis 5 Queso which benefits the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  I guess I consider this race to be the kick-off to my fall racing season.  If you recall, I ran in this race last year and it was my first race post stress fracture.  Comeback races are tough! Once again the race

When HEAT meets HILLS- The White River 4 Mile Classic Road Race Report

Remember that silly New Year’s Resolution I made to run at least one road race every month this year???  Well, this goal came back to bite me big time this morning.  August was really the main month of the year I was worried about and for good reason.  Nothing good comes from racing in August.  At least not in Arkansas!

The Escalon 10k- the one I set a course record?!
The Escalon 10k- the one I set a course record?!

It’s been a crazy week. We’ve been on vacation in California and you know me- of course I had to find a nearby race because vacation races are the best! No pressure, new race environment and a fun trip memory. So months ago when we set our trip dates I found a 10k just 15 minutes from our hotel. After

CASA 5K Race Report- the one that was REALLY hot!

Yesterday I ran in another 5K.  I knew going into the race that once again my training was not where it needed to be because of my patellar tendonitis.  I have been cross training much more than running this past month and it all caught up to me yesterday- along with some pretty intense heat. For some reason, 5 K
