2 More Morning Runs…

2 More Morning Runs…

Yesterday I went running on a Sunday morning for the first time in a LONG time. I met Meg at 6:55 and I must say it is a different world out there at that time. There was hardly any traffic, the weather was great- I could get used to this! We did 6 miles, partly on the trail and then road. This morning I ran with Kem 6.5 around Searcy. I will be taking tomorrow off since I will be…

Another week done…

Another week done…

Yesterday I did 8 with the running class. Afterwards my legs were pretty tired so I put off doing Body Pump until today. I am not planning on running today since I am at almost 30 for the week. I am planning on going a few in the morning with Meg. Marathon update… I recently realized that I will need to pace an 8 minute mile to hit 3:30. Yikes! I figure that if I need to be under 3:40…

A nice run with my sweetie…

A nice run with my sweetie…

This morning a good friend from church wanted to watch the kids for me (yes- they called me and asked when they could keep my kids this week!) so I had an hour and a half to myself! John and I decided to go for a jog together with no children since we haven’t done that since our half marathon training days. It was unusually cool for June and felt great outside. I wanted to go our usual 3 mile…

My first run with the best watch ever…

My first run with the best watch ever…

Before I go on and on about the best running watch ever…check out my 8 roses from my sweetheart. He got them for me for our 8 year anniversary. He really went all out this year! SO… today I got to run with my new watch. It is the best invention for runners EVER. It was so easy to use and I loved knowing how far we’d gone, what our pace was and the total time. Once again I ran…

Happy Anniversary- I Gotta Garmin!!

Happy Anniversary- I Gotta Garmin!!

Yes, today John and I have been married 8 years. We celebrated by going to Memphis for the day. We brought Anna and spent the day just shopping and talking. It was great! I got two new skillets for cooking, some new running clothes and something else I am SO excited about… a new running watch! A worker at Dick’s Sporting Goods told us about a great Gramin watches sale going on at Best buy. I’ve been researching them online…

No running today…

No running today…

I decided to take a day off since I haven’t in almost 2 weeks. I did Body Pump this morning and we may go for a walk tonight but it will be nice to relax a little today. I just received my new training book, Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide by Hal Higdon. I am looking forward to reading it. My friend who qualified for the Boston marathon this past year trained using his program. The book also has all…

Scheduling…Yes, even in running!

Scheduling…Yes, even in running!

Well, this has been a great week for me mileage wise. I have 33 1/2 miles so far with one day in the week left! I ran another 7 today with the running class. The next challenge I have is working on scheduling my runs better. I love meeting with the running group but it does take up an hour and a half between driving to and from the gym and waiting for everyone to actually start running. I know…

Health Corp’s Running Class…

Health Corp’s Running Class…

Yesterday and today I was able to run with the running class that meets at Health Corp at 8:30 a.m. (All thanks to John’s great summer schedule 🙂 Both days we went 6 miles at a pretty good pace. It is really nice being able run with others and go on different routes.

It’s getting hot out here….

It’s getting hot out here….

So today’s run was a 5 mile trail run with John and Anna. The big kids were at mom and dad’s so we thought we’d take advantage of having only one. The only problem was that it was after 10 by the time we were out on the trail. That is fine at other times of the year but this late in May in Arkansas that is asking for trouble! It was also John’s first time running in a few…
