Some Recovery Time and Two 10ks

Hello and Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! The kids are home from school all week so we are very much in holiday mode around our house. Before I completely forget I thought I would write up a very brief recap from the two races I ran since the marathon. I hesitate to even write about them since they were during my marathon

27 Days

I had some questions about how I handled marathon recovery, training, and tapering in between Chicago and Wynne. If you were one of those people- this post is for you! First, don’t underestimate marathon recovery and rest! Some marathons require more rest than others. Fortunately, Chicago was a fairly easy one to recover from and I felt ready to run

It was a Wynne-Win Situation: The Midsouth Marathon Race Recap

On Saturday morning two things happened when I crossed the finish line in Wynne, Arkansas. First, I won my first marathon. Second, my marathon PR streak came to an end. ย I decided I’m going to celebrate the first and not dwell on the second. Running marathons less than a month apart is tough but I gave it my best shot.

Back to back Marathoning… and two 5k’s!

On October 11th I ran the Chicago Marathon knowing full well I had plans to run another marathon 27 days later. Thankfully, the recovery process has gone well and tomorrow is the next marathon! I’m going to do a whole post on my recovery/ training these past 27 days but I’m going to wait until after tomorrow’s race for that.
