The 3 Bridges Marathon- Race Recap {Breaking 3!!}
The 3 Bridges Marathon- Race Recap {Breaking 3!!}

The 3 Bridges Marathon will always be special to me.  It was my 10th marathon and my first time to go sub 3.  (And hopefully not my last!)  It was also the first time all my kids have seen me run in a marathon. Before I get started with the actual recap I will warn you this will be a

The Best AND Worst of 2013- A Year of Racing!

First of all… THANK YOU for the generous comments on Facebook, Daily Mile or in person after my race yesterday.  It means the world to me!!  A goal I set this past January was to break 3 hours in the marathon.  It might have taken me all year but on December 28, 2013 it happened!! Official time- 2:59:19.  (Wow- does

Thank you for the very encouraging comments after my recent half marathon.  I intended to write  between now and then but of course life got incredibly busy and chaotic with the holidays.  There were Christmas parties, cookie exchanges, Christmas programs and a slew of other activities going on that kept this mama moving!  I will say I think I had

So what do you do when your marathon is cancelled?  As I mentioned in my last post– you register for some more races!  Besides finding a replacement marathon I also decided to throw in a half marathon as a tune-up race since it worked out timing -wise.  Last year was the first time I’d ever heard of this race but

In the last week I have experienced a wide range of emotions leading up to my non-marathon weekend. Maybe you know what I’m talking about… First, the excitement of it being race week.  This was it.  The race I’ve had on my calendar ALL year.  This was going to be my sub 3 race.  I knew the course, loved the

So I am planning to run in a little marathon in 3 days.  But at this point I am not 100% sure if it will happen.  The weather is looking a little rough. Apparently significant icing is in store on Friday which will play a big role in whether or not the race is still a go on Saturday.  I

Happy Thanksgiving week!! I’m enjoying a week home with all the kiddos and a more relaxed schedule.  Let’s just say we had quite a few Thanksgiving/ Pilgrim & Native American events last week.   I’m very thankful for a quiet week home because I know the next few weeks leading up to Christmas are going to be busy! A New 10K PR- Running With My Mini Me…

If you are reading wondering how I set a new 10K PR just 6 days after my marathon I will fill you in now… I didn’t!  It’s not my PR but I think I am enjoying it more than when I set my own this past May.  It actually belongs to my Abi and I had the privilege of running

The Bass Pro Marathon Race Report- 3:02:40

On Sunday morning I ran my 9th marathon.  I had a very specific time goal in mind.  I had trained hard for that time.  I knew I was capable of getting that time. But it didn’t happen. I arrived in Springfield, Missouri Saturday afternoon with my friend Tish along with two of her children and one of their friends.  Tish

Race Report- The Bison Stampede {Me- Negative Splitting a 5K?!}

The 5K distance is by FAR my most raced distance.  I’ve been racing them since I was a kid and on through college.  When I got back into running a few years ago and I started training for longer distances like the marathon and the half marathon I still couldn’t resist sprinkling in a few 5K’s here and there.  I
