Thwarted Plans
This morning did not go as I had planned. A sick husband and baby who woke up at 6am and wouldn’t go back to sleep equaled no early morning run for this runner mom. I do my best to stick to my schedule but LIFE happens and sometimes we just can’t control circumstances. This was one of the those mornings so I had to text my running buddies early. Fortunately, there were still two of them meeting so they had each other. I, however, had to figure out when I was going to squeeze in my run.
Since John was home sick, I was able to run later in the day when Ashton went down for a nap. I made the most of my “free time” by running on the treadmill at the gym. (It’s over 100 degrees here in the day right now so running outside is not really an option if you don’t go early.)
What do you do when something comes up and gets in the way of exercise time? Everyday presents a new challenge of “when will I get it done today?” As a mom, it usually seems like my schedule revolves around everyone else’s in the family. I’m not complaining about it- I know it’s just the phase of life I’m in right now. I do not always know when it will get done but I do know that it WILL get done and that works for me!
