This morning I met Kem again for a 3.5 mile run. We ended up averaging an 8:26 for the run so it was my best pace since the injury. It has been almost 13 weeks since this all went down and I must say that the entire run felt GREAT! I felt NO stress fracture area discomfort AT ALL!! While we were running I felt like I was “normal” again. Does that make sense? We talked about our upcoming training cycle and also about what was going on in our lives. It’s just so good to catch up on everything. She is also doing Houston in January and a few Half Marathons this fall so we are going to be on similar schedules.
July starts in a few days and I will spend the month of “starting over” with my running. I am going to build up my base a little and just get a solid foundation so I can begin training sometime in August. Plus, I’ll have all of July to really work on my upcoming schedule. Yes, I LOVE making running schedules!
So life is not just good. It’s great!
