Well, it’s been several weeks since my last running post. I have still been running but have just been too busy getting the house ready to sell (which it did!) and my oldest started kindergarten. John also returned to HU for the new semester so we were adjusting to all kinds of new things. In the midst of the chaos my marathon training began. After a date conflict I decided to change race dates. My sister will be getting married on Dec. 5th so that means no Memphis Marathon. Instead I will be running the Dallas White Rock one week later on December 13th. It only pushed back starting to train one week so it has been fine.

I am now on Week 3 of training and this morning I did my first track/ speed work out in over 8 years. We had 4- 800’s. I am so glad I have Kem to train with. I know I wouldn’t have wanted to go to the track at 6 in the morning by myself, that’s for sure!

SO here’s the breakdown of the last few weeks running-wise…

Week 3
8/24- 5 (pace run- 7:58 avg.)

8/25- 6
8/26- 3

8/27- 4 (7:52 avg.)

8/28- 3 (4 x 800) (3:08, 3:09, 3:00, 3:00)
8/29- plan to do 6 with John

Week 2

8/17- 5 (8:04 avg.)
8/18- 9
8/19- 5.5
8/20- off
8/21- 4.5 tempo (7:46 avg. for 3.5)
8/22- 5 with John
Total: 29

Week 1
8/9- 5 (pace run- 8:07 avg.)
8/10- off (Abi’s first day of school!)
8/11- 8
8/12- 4 (pushed double jogger)
8/13- 4 (pushed single jogger)
8/14- 3 (hill work-out)
Total: 24

8/3- 5
8/4- 5 (pace run- 8:07 avg.)
8/5- 5
8/6- 5
8/7- 7.5
8/8- 4
